September 2010 – Newsletter

Great News, the project to create a spiral path leading to a viewpoint over the top field is almost completed, the stage is built and just needs the paths creating to complete the whole area.

We are taking part in the 4 day Heritage Open Days event on September 9th – 12th with FREE refreshments for all visitors, the project will be open from 10 -4 each day.

Our Museum is currently housed in a temporary building but gives an idea of the range of artefacts available, sorry no disabled access available to the temporary building however we would be delighted to bring any objects of interest outside for you to view, this is a temporary problem which will be addressed by the building of our permanent museum building.

Our local LJC panel recently awarded us a grant of 2,000 pounds to erect a fence along the railway to enable the first part of the project to be opened to the public 7 days a week.

As always more volunteers are needed to ensure the project continues to move forward, feel like being part of a succesfull restoration project, then we would like to hear from you.
